Tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1) is our special outdoor gathering at Four Winds Field (the home of the South Bend Cubs)! This will be the first time we’ve brought our community together for a single gathering since Easter Sunday at Union Station in 2017. We’ll have the stadium to ourselves, so there is no admission or parking fees. Don’t forget to bring your masks (required except while seated). You are welcome to bring your own water, but water, soda, and Gatorade will be available for purchase as well.
We’re excited to announce a special giving opportunity we’ll have at our gathering. Anything given in our offering at Four Winds Field, or online by selecting the “City Action” fund, will be donated to 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend, unless otherwise designated. This organization aims to “improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans” and bases their work on the following precepts: respect for family, spirituality, justice, and integrity.
As we look for more ways to support and protect the Black community particularly in the South Bend area, we wanted to do so financially and knew you would want to share in that opportunity. We will be matching all donations designated toward this fund, up to $5,000. You can donate during our Four Winds Field gathering on July 1 or online until July 10.
Individuals, families, friends, and neighbors are all welcome! Please remember to keep young children with you at all times as play areas will be closed.
We’ll see you TOMORROW!
