Coming soon: Advent at 112

Pre-order your copy of “Honest Advent”

This advent season, we’ll be walking through our friend Scott Erickson’s book, “Honest Advent,” together. In order to help you follow along in this journey, we’d like to encourage you to pre-order ($12.50 donation suggested) a copy that will be available to pick up at Studebaker 112, or consider ordering from a local independent bookstore (search for one near you here). Locally in South Bend, you can purchase directly from Brain Lair Books on Jefferson Blvd.

Our community advent practice will include weekday open-house hours in our space at Studebaker 112 with time for prayer and reflection. This practice will be centered around a visual display of the images featured in Scott’s book. You will be invited to stop by individually or with your family members, while remaining socially distant and masked inside our gathering space, during select hours every Monday through Friday during advent (beginning Nov. 30 and ending Dec. 24).

You can pre-order your copy of “Honest Advent” by Scott Erickson by clicking here: copy per household/order. While supplies last. Donations suggested but not required.

This week’s reading & meditation:
Psalm 146

1 Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

2 I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.

6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free,
8     the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the Lord.
