Christmas 2020 giving

Christmas 2020 giving

Each year, we celebrate the generosity of God at Christmas with a special offering. We contribute above and beyond our regular giving to address needs and pursue opportunities that align with our identity as a community of grace and peace for our city and the world. We’re excited to share in this work together to continue to resource and support efforts within our church community, city, and the world. You can watch lead pastor Jason Miller outline these opportunities in more detail on Instagram or FacebookTo make a contribution, head to our online giving page and select the Christmas 2020 fund.

Each year, we celebrate the generosity of God at Christmas with a special offering.

To resource our church community, we’ll:

  • Create a special at-home Christmas Eve experience, providing a film and accompanying kit that includes candles and other artifacts to make the at-home experience feel a little more like a gathering in Studebaker 112

  • Support our general fund to help us maintain financial health while we continue to be affected by COVID-19

To meet needs in our city, we’ll:

  • Continue our work on behalf of vulnerable children and families. We’ll establish a foster care & adoption support fund to provide supply vouchers for foster families upon first child placement; reimburse respite care for foster families; and create a local grant to help adoptive families with application and home study fees.

  • Create a safe, sacred space for prayer and reflection during Advent, with experiences tailored for both adults and kids, open to everyone in our community and city

To invest beyond South Bend for the sake of the world, we’ll:

  • Support the emergence of a network of like-minded churchesaround the country where we can learn and contribute

  • Grow our scholarship fund for SBCC members to participate in Telos peacemaking pilgrimages once the threat of COVID subsides
