Masks now optional for those fully vaccinated

Masks now optional in gatherings for fully vaccinated individuals

Just a reminder that with the recent changes in local mask recommendations, masks will be optional for fully vaccinated individuals attending our main gatherings on Thursdays and Sundays beginning this week! Masks will still be required in each of our Kids’ Ministry rooms.

We hope you’ll continue to join us for outdoor coffee service between the 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday gatherings (weather-permitting) on the west lawn. This outdoor space is a great way to meet new friends and connect with others in our community in a safe way and features kids’ activities as well.

Registration is still required for Thursday & Sunday gatherings and goes live every Monday on our website. If you forget to register for a Sunday gathering, you can always join us (weather-permitting) on the west lawn where you’ll be able to listen to the gathering without overcrowding our indoor space.

We recognize the changes in masking protocol may be exciting for some and cause anxiety for others, and we are committed to providing a safe environment for everyone attending in person. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out at or catch one of our staffbefore or after a gathering.

Conversation: A Palestinian Christian Perspective
In light of the recent escalations of violence in the Holy Land, our podcast this week features a special learning opportunity. Our Lead Pastor, Jason Miller, sat down for a conversation with Daniel Bannoura, a Palestinian who currently attends grad school here in South Bend and is a member of our SBCC family. Daniel shares his perspective on the conflict and an encouragement for followers of Jesus who want to serve the cause of peace. You can check out the podcast here or anywhere you listen to podcasts.

If you’d like to learn more about this conflict through the stories of Israeli and Palestinian peacemakers, check out The Telos Channel, a podcast from our partners at the Telos Group.

Support for foster care & adoption

May is national foster care month! We’ve been sharing a series of posts on social media that focuses on the stories of those fostering or supporting fostering in a variety of ways within our community. You can find those posts on our Instagram feed or Facebook page. This Thursday and Sunday in gatherings, we will designate any in-person giving toward our foster & adopt fund to provide financial support toward fees, supplies, and other needs associated with fostering or adopting. You can also contribute financially toward this fund by selecting the “Foster & Adopt Fund” through our online giving page.
