Planning for Phase 3 of gatherings

Phase 3 and how we’ll get there

We’ve been cautiously and thoughtfully shifting our gathering protocol around the diminishing yet still present risks of COVID-19. We are so grateful for the grace and patience demonstrated by our community in our attempts to keep everyone as safe as possible. This summer, we will continue to keep track of local case statistics as well as recommendations by health and government officials. With this in mind, we are excited to announce that our target dates for Phase 3 (fully open with no mandatory restrictions) of our weekly gatherings are August 5 & 8 (Thursday & Sunday)!
Phase 3 means we will no longer require masking or social distancing, and we won’t need to restrict the numbers of our gatherings or ask for registrations. This will only happen if the current positive trends in cases, hospital capacity, and masking/social distancing recommendations continue and we feel it is safe to do so.

In preparation for Phase 3, regardless of the specific date, we wanted to let you know of some other benchmarks we’ll need to reach in order to transition to non-restricted gatherings. Our current Kids’ Ministry classroom volunteer roster is about 1/3 of the way back to being able to staff each of our 5 classrooms on a regular basis in order to care for our kids well and allow for a reasonable frequency of serving for each volunteer. We want to be able to honor our kids, our parents, and our volunteers by being well prepared.

We also have a minimized team of worship volunteers, from vocalists and instrumentalists to tech operators and readers. The same would apply to our greeters, parking, hospitality, and communion teams. In order to create a full gathering experience and accommodate all who want to be a part of our community, we hope you’ll consider a volunteer role where you can serve, get connected, and be a part of making our gatherings happen!

We are grateful for all our continuing and new volunteers who are helping to create the community of grace and peace that we share, and we look forward to new faces joining in the weeks ahead as we gear up for Phase 3!
