Since the founding of South Bend City Church, we’ve focused on the practice of generosity as one way of celebrating Christmas, with gratitude for God’s generosity to us in the gift of Jesus. This year’s practice includes three invitations to give: (1) to support the church’s general fund and sustain our regular ministries, (2) to give to The Tribune Project to ensure that we are able to cross the finish line on the Phase 1 renovation, and (3) a special Christmas offering.
As with past years, this Christmas offering goes to support objectives in line with our calling as a community of grace and peace for our city and the world. For more information about each of these objectives, check out this special podcast episode.
To give to the Christmas Offering, head to our give page and make sure Christmas 2023 is selected.
If Christmas Offering giving exceeds the $40,000 goal this year, any excess will be divided between the general fund to offset giving shortages and the care fund.
COMMUNITY: Advent Prayer Guide
We’re creating a printed prayer and reflection guide for Advent to be released in 2024, featuring artists from the SBCC family alongside historical resources.
CITY: La Casa De Amistad’s Immigration Legal Clinic Fund
We’ll partner with La Casa De Amistad to cover the cost of legal services and administrative fees that are required for immigrants and refugees who are seeking to integrate as residents and citizens.
WORLD: Redeemer Central (Belfast) Building Fund and The Telos Group’s Advocacy for Israeli and Palestinian Mutual Flourishing
We’ll contribute to Redeemer Central’s building fund to help sustain their presence in the heart of Belfast, supporting not only their gatherings as a worshiping community, but also their hospitality to refugee populations and food distribution efforts. We’ll also support critical peacemaking work through The Telos Group, focusing on Israel/Palestine.
