For many, getting a tattoo is a sacred practice. We mark our bodies with art that commemorates our most significant experiences and our deepest commitments. We express grief, hope, faith, and dreams through a medium that humans have employed for thousands of years.
INK STORIES is a curated storytelling event that honors this sacred practice. We’re partnering with our friends at Stockroom East, who is hosting, for this special event on November 8th at 7p. Eight storytellers will be selected, and each storyteller will have seven minutes to share the stories. They’re bringing the humor, the heart, the creativity, and the vulnerability that they tapped into when they got their ink, and sharing it with the rest of us. Come for the program, but stick around for the community. The bar at Stockroom will be open till late, and once the storytelling on stage is done, we hope more stories get told among old and new friends. And for those who get the itch, tattoo artists from Mystic Union will be on hand with a menu of flash tattoos to select from in case you’d like to get inked.
Right now, we’re seeking storyteller applications. If you’d like to tell your ink story, check this link for more info and to apply.
Application deadline: Friday, October 24
Applicants will be notified of storyteller selections the week of October 27
