SBCC Event Planning Framework

The SBCC Event Planning Framework is more than just a set of parameters, it expresses South Bend City Church’s commitment to being a community of grace and peace. This framework ensures that every event hosted in The Tribune aligns with our mission and values by emphasizing clarity, fairness, adaptability, and stewardship. The Tribune is not an event center, but is home to a church community that wants our building to be a place for the people.

  1. We hold off on booking anything more than 6 months out to honor events that might arise in the life of our church.
  2. We ask that all requests are submitted through the Tribune Venue Request form and, once submitted, those requests are reviewed by our team to see if we can accommodate.
  3. If the date and request is able to be met, someone from our staff team will set up a meeting to do a walk through and gather more information about set up, catering, special requests, and so on.
  4. Once event details are discussed and agreed upon, we will create a Tribune Venue Rental agreement that will outline dates, times, expectations, responsibilities, venue payment and other fees associated with the event.
  5. Once signed by both an SBCC representative and the person making the request, we will lock in the date, time, all the details, and assign a SBCC person to be the point of contact. It is at this point that your event is confirmed.
  • The information form must be fully completed in order to start the reservation process.
  • We will provide a point of contact for your event.
  • We will provide a clean space for your event.
  • We expect every event user to have liability insurance, a deposit submitted, timely correspondence, and return things to their original state.
  • Parking is available on-street or at the Main/Colfax Parking Garage. Parking lot on Lafayette may be used with permission.
  • SBCC does not promise exclusive use of the entire premises for the Event, unless otherwise negotiated by Event User. SBCC reserves the right to offer rooms not under contract to other parties, with the primary Event User maintaining the first right of refusal.
